Voter Information Letters Arriving Soon

September 15, 2022 – Voter Information Letters (VILs) will start arriving by mail next week to all eligible Thunder Bay electors currently on the voters’ list for the upcoming 2022 Municipal & School Board Election.

“VILs contain important information on how, when and where to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election,” says Krista Power, City Clerk and Returning Officer. VILs contain:

  • A voter identification number and PIN for internet voting
  • Dates and locations for advance voting, including drive-thru voting
  • Locations where you can vote in your ward on Election Day, October 24
  • Information about accessible voting
  • Voter helpline information
  • A pass for a free transit ride to and from any poll on advance voting days or Election Day

Online voting begins on Oct. 5 at 10 am, and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week until voting closes at 8 pm on Election Day - Monday, October 24. Online voting will also be available at advance polls and Election Day polls.

The following in-person voting opportunities are available in advance of Election Day:

October 5-6

10am - 8pm

West Thunder Community Centre,

915 Edward Street South

October 12-13

10am - 8pm

Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre,

700 River Street

She added that if residents do not receive a VIL, it means you were not included on the Voter’s List at the time when the VILs were printed and mailed out. As well, if your name or address has changed, or if your VIL has any errors, bring it with identification to the Clerk's Office at City Hall during regular office hours, Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Staff from the Clerk's office will also be making VIL revisions at pop-up locations around the city including Intercity Mall, Goods and Co and the Thunder Bay Country Market. For more information, and revision location dates and times, visit: www.tbayvotes.ca
